Yasuo also has muscular dystrophy symptoms. The two brothers now have their new life here with the helpers taking shifts every day.
At the beginning of 2007 Tsuyoshi asked Yasuo to restart music activities. When Yasuo was in hospital before, he and volunteers organized a band named メRaspberry Fields.モ It was very active and taken up on TV by the NHK. But Raspberry Fields disbanded a year ago since Yasuo had a quiet life at home with their partner. Tsuyoshi suggested they and their helpers make a new band. Production Note
My New Life, My Brother was produced at the request of Tsuyoshi Inose and Yasuo Inose in March 2007. I have been in good contact with them. They are brothers and both have muscular dystrophy. They wish their own group of the handicapped persons to be recognized through the film.
Though this film would be categorized into documentaries, I wanted it to be something between a documentary and fiction, or both at the same time. My intention was to portray Tsuyoshi and Yasuo as usual brothers, not only from the social point of view on the handicapped. I hope, through Tsuyoshi's eyes toward Yasuo, you will see the kind of happiness that everyone finds in their everyday life.
There are many films about handicapped people, but I can say with pride that this one is unique in its way of describing them.
